Catalytic Aftertreatment Enabling Technology

TempMax™ is a direct replacement technology which delivers the heat energy produced by the engine directly to the catalyst with little or no temperature loss. TempMax™ does this without the need of additional external insulation materials or complicated mechanical systems. TempMax™ provides both sound attenuation as well as a significantly lower temperature on the tubes outer surface, giving it an added safety feature. When applied to a diesel powered vehicles and equipment, TempMax™ is proven to optimize the level of catalytic performance.

TempMax ™ can help solve the problem of retrofitting diesel engines with temperature dependant catalytic after treatment devices. Factory exhaust tubes typically lose between 100° to 150° degrees Celsius of temperature between the engine Turbo-Charger and the muffler. Insufficient temperatures cause high performing catalyst technologies to fail prematurely or to be excluded from being used on a larger cross-section of applications. This higher temperature profile can be critical in sustaining the performance of a catalyst in its application. Such exhaust temperature profiles are characterized by the engine duty cycle, operator driving characteristics, or the climate the engine is operating in.
